Today I caught up with Billy Zane prior to his forthcoming exhibition, 'Seize The Day Bed' which commences from Thursday at the fashionable Fitzrovia gallery, Rook & Raven. You may all recognise Billy from iconic films such as Titanic and Dead Calm, but for the last 17 years he has been painting avidly both at home in LA and on sets around the world. I had the pleasure of catching up with him while he had a spare 10 minutes while setting up the show.
What was his main inspiration for seize the day bed? And what's the story behind the name?
I love wordplay and puns in particular. SEIZE THE DAY BED resonated as a curious philosophy as well. Urgent relaxation became a mandate when creating this collection because action painting, is actually quite meditative and a relaxing to me really.

Menswear style in LA or London- Which is better?
You have to ask?
Despite dressing casually in jeans and t-shirt for a day preparing his show at the gallery, Billy manages to still look dapper by adding a pair of brown brogues by Loake, jacket and pocket square, along with his trademark flat-cap. The t-shirt is designed by a friend of his, DJ Boss Harms, who also helped him put together a soundtrack to accompany the launch of his exhibition.
